Work

A commitment to operational excellence has been a key to my success over the span of my career. My experience is in full service restaurants, corporate dining, conference centers, and sports and leisure operations.

I have been an associate of IHS for the past four years. Before IHS, for nine years, I served as the Senior Director of Customer Service at Amtrak. For 10 years, I served as a regional manager for TGI Friday’s. I was also a multi-unit manager for Sodexo in the mid-Atlantic area. While at Amtrak, I oversaw the development of the Amtrak Customer Experience (ACE) program, where I helped engineer processes and procedures to improve communication, service, and ultimately, the passenger experience.

Life

I come from a large family in southwestern Ohio and now live in Wilmington, Delaware with my wife, Beth, and one of our sons, Jeffrey. Beth is a Director of Private Client Services at Brandywine Trust.

Our daughter Amy lives and works in New York City with her husband and two sons. Our son, Alex is in Minnesota, and is establishing himself in property management with Solhem Properties. Our son, Matt, a Wilmington University graduate, has landed a position with the Philadelphia 76ers. Jeffrey has earned his associate degree in baking from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. We have two dogs – a crazy Siberian Husky, Willow, and the polar opposite, Molly, a Golden Retriever.

I really enjoy spending time with my family. Beth and I love to travel – our latest trip was to Italy. We love the theater, and enjoy visiting museums and other cultural attractions in Philadelphia, New York, and Washington. We are fans of live comedy and music – saw Wanda Sykes recently and just saw Carrie Underwood perform in Philadelphia with Delaware native Jimmie Allen.
